Overview

NOW is an interactive leisure-planning app that helps users discover events and places based on their interests, budget, lifestyle, and available time. Users can plan alone or with friends. In group mode, the app suggests options that match everyone’s preferences, supports voting for the final choice, and helps complete the plan through ticket purchase, booking, ride request, or navigation.

The Challenge

While designing a single-page website, one of the primary challenges was ensuring optimal usability on mobile devices, as I anticipated that most users would access the site on their phones. To address this, I developed a mobile-first design that is equally competent on desktop but prioritizes mobile functionality. A significant challenge was the language barrier. Since the target audience includes international tourists, I needed to ensure that users could easily navigate the site regardless of their language. To overcome this, I implemented an AI-powered translation feature that allows seamless switching between languages, ensuring accessibility for a global audience. Additionally, another challenge was structuring all the necessary content on a single page without overwhelming the user.

The Solution

To facilitate easy navigation, I incorporated a hamburger menu as a shortcut to different sections of the page, ensuring users could quickly find the information they needed.

The Result

The final concept offers a smoother way to plan spontaneous outings with friends or people who share similar tastes and interests. By combining personalized suggestions, group matching, voting, and booking features, NOW helps users quickly move from “What should we do?” to a shared plan for going out and having fun.
